What are some old fashioned Swedish names? And how do you pronounce it? (read the rest)?

I found out that the name has to rhyme with your last name too. my last name is Egri. So it's hard because I want my bird to have a Swedish first name with my Czech last name.

It doesn't have to rhyme with your surname, people would walk around with very funny sounding names if that was the case. I can't think of a Swedish name rhyming with Egri, so maybe your bird has to look somewhere else for a rhyming name, but otherwise, Egil (E-geel - g as in great) at least is similar to Egri.

I have never ever heard the nickname "Tupsa" before. I have to go and ask my dad if he has... Nope, he hasn't. Interesting though.
Reply:Getolifi: pronounciation (get-a-life)
Reply:How about "Tippi", like the legendary actress Tippi Hedren? (Became famous as the lead in the movie "The Birds" from Hitchcock.) It's a Swedish nickname, short for "Tupsa", meaning 'Little Girl' or "Sweetheart" in Swedish.
