What is the meaning or origin of the Swedish name "Kronquist"?

We are searching the internet for information about our families last name, "Kronquist" and can find nothing about the meaning or the origin of it.

What is the meaning or origin of the Swedish name "Kronquist"?
Well, you have to understand that all the names in Sweden (with few exceptions) were Sven(son), Leif(son), Anders(son), etc.

To eliminate confusion people started changing their names, around the time of WW1.

When they called out "Svenson" 150 people stood up. You understand, that created chaos.

Obviously, due to narcissism, people wanted the most fancy names they could find.

"Kronquist" actually means Crown and Twig. Sounds good, "noble" and "natural".

and there you have the Etymology.

Did this help?
